Thank you for your interest in the Yavneh-Yam 2005 (YY2005) season. I apologize for some confusion caused by the usual Middle East atmosphere. Anyway, we are going to have a wonderful YY2005 (sixth season) of excavations, and all this only with your help.

The 2005 season will take place from July 10 to August 12 (5 weeks). The minimum stay is 2 weeks; this can be started on one of the Sundays (namely, July 10, 17, 24, and 31). A one-week participation would be taken into account only for exceptional cases, and in such a case, we would recommend you join us for the last week, namely on Sunday, August 7.

The participation fee is US $350 for one week, $675 (2 weeks), $1000 (3 weeks), $1300 (4 weeks), and $1600 (5 weeks). It covers a full-board accommodation (4 meals and board in a 4-person room with WC&shower&air conditioner), archaeological training in the field and find-sorting, lectures, visits to museums, and fun&history&archaeology trips on two Sundays, namely July 17 and 31. The participation fee does not cover flights, travel, and insurance costs.

Gender specification is important for us in order to organize the rooms. Couples who wish to stay together are asked to inform us about it in time. Special demands for diet should also be mentioned as soon as possible. We try to do our best to solve such problems.

Those of you who have already sent your email submissions are kindly asked to reconfirm your participation according to the time schedule given above. For those of you who have not yet submitted an application, kindly do so ASAP: yavneyam@post.tau.ac.il.

As soon as we have the first groups established, I will send you further details regarding the payment arrangements, including a deposit of US $50 (non- refundable) which should be sent with the application.

I would like to ask you to advertise our project among your colleagues and friends and to convince them to join us as well. I appreciate your help very much. Don't forget many of the Yavneh-Yam mysteries remained unsolved and you can be one of those who can do it! Anyway, the wonderful blue Mediterranean Yavneh-Yam coast is awaiting you!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I wish all of us a wonderful season and all the best to you!
